Wow! Horrifying and yet so very satisfying! How often do you root for the killer while still simultaneously worrying for the "victims." This was a powerful audio play to listen to on Gather by the Ghostlight, too!

Evan has a magical talent for writing eerie tales and in "Open Mic Night" you don't realize just how eerie it is until the delightful twist slaps you in the face. A wonderfully written horror play that is perfect for any theatre wanting to host a fright night!

No spoilers, but what a clever play! Highly recommend you listen to OPEN MIC NIGHT with the Gather By The Ghostlight podcast. Evan Baughfman has written something spooky and very fun that is reminiscent of an episode of Tales from the Crypt.

Oh. My. Gosh.
I did not expect that! Clever wordplay, terrifying and raw, OPEN MIC NIGHT is a dark comedy with a big twist (of the knife, perhaps?). If you're looking for a good horror piece, give this one a shot!

There’s a point in this play when you realize what it all means. “Oh no…” you might say to yourself. But it’s too late… what comes next is as inevitable for you as it is for the characters and there’s nothing you can do about it. Unlike those characters, though… you won’t want it to stop.

Baughfman vividly evokes the seediest of settings and fills it with an ambience of isolation, then populates it with deeply human demons, relentless suspense, macabre humor, and great splatter.

I have just listened to the incredible Gather by the Ghost Light podcast of this play. Evan uses a clever play with words to bring a genuinely horrific play to our ears.
These two Michaels are bought together and initially we share their confusion, until Lily turns up to begin the show, and what follows is gloriously gruesome, will they pay for their previous transgressions? Read this, better still listen to the podcast!

Evan Baughfman can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned. Unlike the Mikes in this twisted little play that would be so great to see done onstage. Great theatricality and wordplay which I love. The setup is innocent enough but quickly turns dark and terrifying. Better make sure you know the show details ahead of time before you go to see an artist. And do it with a clean conscience, if you know what's good for you.
