Captain Ariadne Minos must ferry the latest fourteen tributes to her home planet of Crete, where they will be fed as sacrifices to a fearsome bull. On the journey, she makes a surprise connection to two of her more forceful passengers: the headstrong prince Theseus, and Pneuma, a Healer who is outraged to face death with her medical education incomplete. However, as the spaceship nears its final destination, Ariadne must weigh the comfort of her new friends against family loyalties which have haunted her across the galaxy. The time has come for her to reconcile between monsters, gods, and men.

Such an exciting read - the reveals had me gasping! This play is in playful conservation with mythology but never gets bogged down in references. Instead, it feels original and lively. Wonderful visuals as well. A thrill to read.

The only thing I love more than a radical adaptation of a Greek myth is one set in SPACE—and when that play is as clever and well-constructed as this one, I find myself utterly smitten! I love how all of the characters are smart, specific, and ambitious, especially the women. The balance of magic, spiritualism, technology, and pragmatism is fascinating - plus, I loved that knowing more about the original myth helped me put the pieces together, but the original storytelling still surprised me and kept me on my toes! Plus, the final haunting image? EVERYTHING!

Two of my favorite things unexpectedly combined: Greek myth and science fiction! Absolutely delightful: absorbing, imaginative, and theatrical.
