An utterly charming trio of plays exploring the geometry of love, Shapes and Stanzas traces the outline of a relationship over time, with all its fits and starts and missed connections. There is a lot to admire about how the play matures over time, with the puns of children becoming the fondly remembered inside jokes of old age, and although there are decades-long breaks between scenes, the characters, like their audience, pick up each time right where they left off, a little older, a little wiser, and with a deepening affection for each other. A lovely gem of a play.

Ken Preuss has crafted such a beautiful trio of short scenes that comprise a magical evening of theatre. KEN PREUSS’s play is a sweet story of Ron and Suzie, who meet at different times in their lives. There is a strong bond, yet circumstances keep them moving in difference directions until the ‘circles of their lives’ find their ‘tangent’, the coming together at their reunion. “Shapes And Stanzas” is poetic, logical, and full of love.
