What a fun time could be had by all the heroes of myth if they'd stop looking at things face value. Or in this case, looking at things from a different perspective (without turning to stone, that is). There's a lot of truth to Adam Richter's script about not jumping to conclusions and also, more importantly, not fearing the "other" just because somebody else told you to. Medusa has got more going on in her head than just a place for snakes, and she shows it. Witty and wonderful.

If Greek mythology had been taught this way, I would have paid a lot more attention in class. Sorry, Edith Hamilton, but Adam Richter has you beat with this funny and genuinely real take on the Perseus/Medusa story that turns it on its head -- pun intended -- where the monster is the one with the smarts and the hero is a muscle-bound dork. I can't wait to see this on stage.

A witty, whip-smart 10 minute retelling of the encounter between Perseus and the apparently hideous gorgon Medusa, which turns all of our assumptions on their head and questions just who the monster really is. Empowering, smart, and knowing, this is a retelling that asks us to look at history from the other side and consider that even a demigod can be hapless when you consider the ridiculousness of their ask. Nice work.

I absolutely love this story! I always thought Medusa got such a horrible shake in Greek mythology. Now she is in charge and I love her! I would love to play this part! The role of Perseus is fun as well, with physical comedy and one liners. Just a great little twist on the original tale we all need to hear today!

This feminist retelling of one of the greatest clashes in literature - Perseus vs. Medusa - is perfect for our #metoo era. It challenges - and satirizes - social and historical concepts of heroism, gender roles and relations - and it's wickedly smart.
One of the best spoofs on Greek myths that I've read.
If you're considering a festival inspired by myths and fables, consider this. It's comedy gold.
