I was not familiar with Mr. St. Croix's plays, but I really liked this one. Information subtly is presented, character traits are expertly dropped in throughout and the ending, where there finally seems to be some understanding of what each person has been through, comes out in a simple and satisfying way. Excellent writing!

This is a wonderful heart warming piece that will have you wanting to hug your own parent or child by the end. Christian has created two wonderful characters in the mother who means well and is trying to make up for lost time and the son who's trying to figure out what he wants their relationship to mean. The dialogue is full of wonderful social/entertainment references that had me giggling. If you're looking for a play that analyses a complex relationship but is still able to give it humour, you can't do any better.

This gorgeous ten minute play packs the same power and punch as a full-length; information is parsed out with elegant, read-between-the-lines depth, and the two characters are drawn with broad strokes yet beautifully filled in. An absolute charmer, St. Croix aims for the heart and delivers an emotionally fulfilling bullseye.
