"I thought she was just going out to Trader Joes to get me quiche. AND MOSTLY FAILING." What a riot! This monologue would be a ton of fun for a character actor who wants to explore some fun physicality. I see so much of my own snarky cats here, and it's a hoot!

Rather than the unconditional love that dogs seem to bestow on their humans, a cat’s relationships are basically transactional. Martha Garvey captures that in humorous and thoughtful fashion through Sully, the talking cat. There’s always a sense with cats, and it’s certainly true of Sully, that they never forget where they came from. That’s why Sully likely nails the audition. And any actor up to this challenge will likely nail theirs. I would love to see that.

Don't read this play while in public unless you are OK with your (actual) LOL drawing attention. Ideally, watch this witty and funny work while being performed, but in a pinch a crowded public place will do. In either case, you'll laugh whether you own cats or not. It's perfection.
