What a moving portrait of two strangers in pain who are able to connect despite their vast differences. It is heartening to see that a woman facing another terrible loss has not lost her compassion and is able to make a difference in a troubled younger woman's life. A truly touching and uplifting play.

Creating wonderful images that you can see in a play is one thing but Arianna manages to creat a play when you can almost smell it. Having set the scene, you are then invited to witness a snapshot of the lives of two women who are both in pain in different ways. As I read about Meredith and Lada I couldn't help but feel for them both in different ways (and for me its always a positive when you can feel for the characters). This play is a lovely example of how every encounter can change lives.

I have read and heard this short play several times and each time it moves me. Two characters in pain find a way to connect and help each other. After experiencing this play, the sound of sloshing water in a bottle comforts me.

Strangers who meet and impact each other’s lives are some of the most powerful stories. And in WATER MUSIC, Arianna Rose presents an encounter that reveals itself in poignant layers, each unexpected moment leading to the next. This is a special piece with heart, humor, and especially honesty. The characters will definitely stay with me.

Two women with deep pain and very different lives and griefs connect on a ferry after one tries to rob the other. The characters are marvelous and surprising. I especially love the use of water in this play, which is both poetic and theatrical. Beautiful and moving.

This story flows effortlessly. The characters are achingly genuine. What an excellent example of a play that is short on time and long on quality.

There is a transfer of wisdom and compassion between women of two generations in this compact play. Playwright Arianna Rose deftly compresses two very different tales of pain and loss as the characters of Lada and Meredith become both lost and found. Elements of memory and water further enhance the play's messages.
