Wow this play speaks so much to me... it will speak for all creatives out there who have been told to be productive by their peers even in the direst situations.

Bykowski delivers in this excellently titled and written short play a quick and powerful message. It's okay to feel/have felt the traumatic, daunting, effects of a situation. You don't need to feel bad and you don't need to make up excuses for how you process or for how you spend your time. The idea is extremely relevant now and will always be relevant.

Sometimes the moment calls for reflection, self care and, while it's great to find the passion to create, it is also okay to not. Well stated.

Rachel Bykowski speaks for every one of us who sees the Facebook posturing of ‘productive artists’ in quarantine for what it really is. Oh, and my favorite play summary this year.

Just great! This piece fights back against the mindset that we MUST be productive and make use of our time in quarantine, and in one short sentence, "I didn't", reminds us that we shouldn't push that mindset on to others.

The laugh you need after a deep, exhausting scroll through Twitter, and the reminder that our best work is always ahead of us.

Pithy and right (as well as write) on. And don't tell me you weren't thinking the exact some thing when you heard the line about King Lear.

I AM SO TIRED of being told I have to be productive and write my best work. Kudos to those who can, but thank god someone said this.

Insightful and humane, this one-minute play is a reminder that we can offer ourselves some grace in these unusual times. Don't rush through reading this play -- time yourself for a complete 60 seconds. It becomes that much richer and emotional.

And don't bother pointing out the coincidence of Bykowski's title & subtitle. She knows what she's doing.
