RACHEL CARNES had my head spinning, laughing out loud, and wondering if sanity had left the universe. “Binders” is a sci-fi parody with a crew of what-can-you-say out-of-wack weird altogether wonderfully absurd characters. I love comedy and the actors in this play will have a grand time performing as the audience laughs from beginning to end. Fun and more fun!

This quirky spoof on Sci-Fi is such a fun ride! So many lines made me laugh out loud, and yet the story fits right into our well-founded fears of climate change and life on a planet where Covid is not under control. Minimal set and maximum impact of dialog. Hop on a star ship to Mars! It’s all in the binders.

So much to love about this play! An absurdist, sci-fi play, with three people leaving earth for Mars. Hilarious dialog with line free line so funny that you want to pause to think about them, but you also can’t wait to see what these characters will say next. Underneath this dialog are true feelings of loss, fear, and despair. Well done.

Genius play for the climate and so persistently relevant to Covid. Who isn't ready to take a rocket-ship to anywhere! It is funny and absurd in a beautifully felt way, and there are lines in this play that only Carnes could write that just kill me! Brilliant non-sequiturs! So character-based and quirky and grounded in true human need. I love this play! I'm going to read it again now. You should too!

I had the pleasure of hearing this read as part of the Area 51 festival today. Carnes' writing always delights and entertains and Binders is certainly no different!

This fun and absurd spoof on sci fi will leave your audience laughing. With binders to guide them, this cast of three take on the unknown in a slowly and hilariously undoing of their mission, their sense of normalcy, and their grip on reality. Silly and engaging, it will not disappoint. Produce it. Have fun with it. It’s a winner.
