This script is a very humorous approach to some of the Greek tales. As is his style, Pflaster takes on the tales with a queer spin but remains authentic to much of the original tales. A Greek chorus that doubles as many of the other characters brings female voices to life while the audience's narrator is a slave to the Greek God, Dionysus. Dionysus' ethics and morals are constantly called into question and Hades is, naturally, sneaky. A Greek tale for the modern age.

Spicy and saucy from the get-go, this sexy spectacle is perfectly paced and plotted and somehow miraculously never gratuitous (though your mileage may vary) given who the protagonist is and (ahem) what he does...

While being first and foremost a romp, Pflaster provides abundant emotion and plenty to think about as we watch Dionysus start to grow up. You may even find yourself thinking fondly and deeply about it days after.

A delightfully naughty and wonderfully fun take on the Dionysus myth, Nothing But Thunder is everything you might want in a cheeky Greek comedy. Surprisingly touching, too! A great play for any company looking for a riff on the classics or a chance to really shine with intimacy direction.
