We all wake up from those dreams and are like, what the heck? We try to go back to sleep in hope of continuing on with it. And once awake we try to make sense of it all. We wish our dreams might ground us or make us feel safe or at least not make us question the failings of our life, dreams and hopes and the collapsing sanity that we see disappearing all around us day after day.

What are our dreams REALLY trying to tell us? Monica Cross presents us with one such scenario in this odd yet strangely meaningful monologue looking at one such dream and its message. And although the setup is familiar, the dream takes us to an unexpected resolution. Can salvation come from a zombie? Cross makes me think it can.

As someone who dreams vividly often this piece is a funny little anecdote. It has a very funny tone and creates some lovely images in spite of it being a short piece.
