What if, instead of being transported to the land of sweets, Clara (or, in this case, her great niece, Sarah) woke up on the fly-infested island of misfit toys? This silly short is a fun and festive sequel to The Nutcracker for young performers, but you don't need to be familiar with the source material to enjoy the puns, laugh-out-loud wordplay, and antics! I think my favorite character was the Fly Girl, a character whose commitment to the bit is as admirable as it is hilarious! This would be a fun alternative to traditional school holiday programs! Sweet!!

This was a tremendous amount of whimsy. An effective modern update of the classic Nutcracker story with a lot of fun parts for actors to play. This would be great for youth theater, high school performances, etc. Loved the subtle allusions to the original story and the new wave take on the original elements. The rhyming parts were a lot of fun as well. I can just see audiences having a lot of Christmas enjoyment with this show, and isn't that what it's all about? This Nutcracker is definitely sweet, indeed.

What a way to kick off the holiday reading season! This is a worthy sequel to the holiday classic, which should become a classic on its own! Is your theater struggling with finances? Then produce this show! Every year! Box office bonanza! Get your Glocnabasha in gear!

Jacquie Floyd never fails to amuse me with her take on things and this play is no exception. A sort-of modern day sequel to the story of the Nutcracker, we are taken to the Land of Sweets, where angsty teen Sarah has an adventure with her old toys and the Nutcracker Prince and saves the day. Jacquie gives you the gift of her twisted wit along with a number of hilarious one liners and comic detours that she does so well. And with a great number of FUN roles for all the actors, schools should open this gift often!

As someone who has been to see productions of the Nutcracker around Christmastime, I thought this was a wonderful sequel. I love the tributes to the original, yet I love the modern feel of this one. Loaded with humor and fun, I can see this becoming a Christmas classic as well! Well done!

What a gem of a sequel to the Nutcracker full of warnings of the importance of treating your home as if it's a treasure, with a little of "Save the Planet" as well. Crackling with witty dialogue and great action, this Sweet should become a staple at theaters everywhere during the holiday season because we could all use a little Raid during this festive time to off-set all the gooiness that the day traditionally provides.
