Wow, what a bittersweet, special little play. There is just as much heart in Betta Oh's silence as in its dialogue, a true testament to Daniel's storytelling. A rich concept and text full of potential for actors, directors, and designers, I can't wait to one day see Betta Oh fully staged!

Oh, how I adore Francis the betta fish... 'Betta Oh' is magical in every sense of the word. In some ways, it's about all the small things that die, and all of the big feelings they leave us with. This piece is a wonderful example of Daniel's absolute talent for writing that lives in silences and gestures. And, though silent, these gestures never lack palpable emotion, powerful empathy, and a signature curiosity for understanding this quirky little thing called the human experience. 'Betta Oh' is a delight to read and will be a triumph to see performed!

A short but sweet script about loss, attachment, and those parts of life where you just feel sort of stuck. I hope that Daniel expands upon this work eventually!
