MICHELE MILLER’s short play, “Change of Plans”, is a brilliant monologue in which you find out so much, have a visceral reaction to all the unfair pain and suffering of this woman, and gladly fantasize her plan will work out. I love this piece for its clarity of what an abusive relationship is. BRAVO!

This monologue by a married woman in NYC during COVID starts off funny, ends up chilling. As the wife leads us on a Zoom tour of her apartment, we learn of a strained marital relationship with the added stress of a COVID lockdown--and no means of escape. Sadly, this has been reality for hundreds of thousands of women for generations. A short play that will resonate with many.

This is a terrific play that highlights the truths individuals are forced to face once in quarantine. We follow a woman's journey through her apartment as harrowing details of her life in this gilded cage are revealed.

The woman in this NYC apartment seems fairly privileged. Then the apartment becomes smaller, and smaller, and scarier, until it’s a prison. But, perhaps, there’s a way out. Michele Miller portrays the haunting reality of too many, who are stuck in isolation, in more ways than one.

I had the privilege of seeing this on TRUSpeak. An incredibly powerful piece about a reality many are facing under lockdown, while providing twists and turns you'll never see coming.
