←Recommendations of Inside Man

I had the pleasure of seeing Inside Man at its world premiere and loved it. It's a complex story in two acts that deals with freedom, life, love, and self sabotage. It plays with shifts in tone, character, and the complexities of a life after. I highly recommend it.

As a side note, it also ties in as the play performed in the novel "Waiting in the Wings" by Danielle Bannister.

This show has a place in my heart. When Randy first showed me this script, I was immediately enthralled, and I am so happy to see this story being told. I would encourage any theater company looking to produce a new, sharp play to strongly consider this one. You will love these characters; your heart will break, you will wish for a different ending. Masks come off, truth is revealed, and you will leave enthralled. Excellent work as always.

Wow! This is an incredibly powerful piece that explored the complexity of family, relationships, and the difficulty of trying to make a fresh start when past mistakes haunt you. As an audience, you are treated to being a fly on the wall for Nick's transition from prisoner to 'outside man'. The difficulties Nick faces in his new life are brilliantly portrayed to the point where you do feel for him. It's an emotionally provocative piece with great characters both in the central role of Nick and in those around him. It's a piece you can't fail but feel something in.

This is a beautiful show about recovery, pain, and how difficult it is to change. The characters are natural and relatable and human; it is easy to become entangled in their lives.

In a way, we are all of us webs of hurt, threads of pain going both to and from us, trying to figure where one ends and another begins. Which ones did we creates, which ones were attached to us, and which ones did we meet partway? The arguments in this show build in how hard they hit until all of the masks start coming off the characters. Very well done drama.

After such a long sentence we come to learn so much about the world Nick left behind. What it must be like to be away and come back to the same-yet different- life. A whirlwind of a few weeks leaves him making up for lost time and the dynamics amongst the family are very relatable and yet heartbreaking. The reveal about the full events of the night [of the accident] shed light on so much of the family system dynamics and ultimately reveal that prison is also a state of mind. As thoughtfully written as it is thought-provoking.

Hunt weaves relatable characters and natural dialogue into a heart-breaking story that speeds by, sweeping us along with it. Some great details. I hope Nick picked up a "get out of jail free" free card for the moment when he is able to fully free himself.

Family dysfunction, victimhood vs. accountability. These are the themes coursing through Randy Hunt’s well-paced drama. The action leads to a climax that packs quite a punch. I highly recommend it!

This is a tremendous show, with a lot of intrigue and intensity. The show is a metaphor for the things in your life that keep you bound and how hard it is to break from the lingering strings that remain from your own incarcerations. Full of rich characters that make this a great acting piece as well. Very well done!

This is a fascinating work that encounters personal responsibility and our necessity to be accountable to ourselves and others. Solidly crafted and thoughtfully executed.
