What starts off as what seems like a monologue about cute teenage angst slowly grows into a powerful horror piece on guilt, fear, and teenage terror. Robin Rice has done a brilliant job of capturing the inner horror as we watch/feel it explode! EXCELLENT WORK! "No Such Thing"--- whatta ride!

It's at the end when you'd expect the Crypt-Keeper or some other ghoulish horror host to pop in, say something like "Mandy thought she could perfectly justify her non-guilty feelings, but SCRATCH THAT!" and end with some high-pitched laughter. Robin Rice gives us a wonderful monologue about guilt, betrayal and a nagging itch that just won't go away. Well, unless you dig for it...

The telltale itch. What a great monologue about how guilt betrays us. Especially when we betray others.

Wow! This is like the opener to the next great horror film! The innocent enough setting, but the talk goes to guilt and selfish infidelities. The perfect set up for the horror to commence! This would be a great opener for an evening of short horror plays, too. What a great tone setting piece!

Well, this did not go where I though it would!

Mandy/Randy is a challenging role for a young actor adept at movement and/or physical comedy. The character is unapologetically awful, a paragon of teen narcissism and entitlement. Fortunately, there are consequences. UNfortuantely, those consequences are… let’s just say, you’ll need a creative design team.

    Bubbly, sharp, and uncompromising!

Guilt is a powerful and consuming emotion and that is what Robin has expertly explored here. The audience are drawn into the characters discovery into her own guilt and what kind of consequences it can have. I don't want to reveal too much here but it offers a wonderfully powerful role for performance and won't fail to draw an audience into the guilt and see how it...infects!

ROBIN RICE explores the hidden feelings of the guilt of a teenager, who denies the truth to everybody including herself. “#No Such Thing (Monologue)” makes cleansing oneself impossible unless you tell the truth. This is a ‘must-read’, or watch performed, for all teenagers. In fact, this monologue will be a hit with audiences of all ages.
