  • Shaun Leisher: Carroll County Fix

Got a chance to catch this play in zoom reading and full-production forms and I had a blast catching back up with it on the page. A wonderful play about small town America going through changes and how some people get out and some stay.

I was lucky enough to see and not just read this play. Like a hometown-hangout movie a-la Clerks or Slacker shot-through with politics, queerness, heartbreak and concern. Me and my partner still use the term "Stinky Pete" to refer to a certain type of townie that we all know and recognize. When a character can stick with you like that... well... I don't know what higher compliment I can give. Read this play.

  • Azuka Theatre: Carroll County Fix

Both funny and challenging, Carroll County Fix pushes past small-town cliches to examine the history and changes wracking rural communities, centering queer youth. Dunn's writing is brilliantly balanced with witty humor, youthful energy, and honest charm while addressing deeper, more exacting topics. A truly moving piece of theatre that needs to be experienced!

  • Douglas Williams: Carroll County Fix

Carroll County Fix is a hilarious, touching, intricate look at queer youth eager to break free from their small town trappings. Val's biting wit and humor perfectly balance the real hardships and pain on display through her mosaic of characters. A play that is demanding to be seen and experienced.

  • Erlina Ortiz: Carroll County Fix

A really excellent examination of how relationships are irrevocably altered when one person stays and one person goes. Makes you ache for home in that way that is both comforting and painful. The characters in all their beautiful and broken ways slowly worm into your consciousness and stay with you long after you've left the theatre.

  • Liv Shoup: Carroll County Fix

One of my favorite pieces of theatre I've encountered in a long time! Carroll County Fix is brutally honest about the hardships facing rural towns, but also captures the unique moments of joy that can only come from your hometown. Delightfully and effortlessly queer, with some of the most accurate representation I've ever seen on stage (as a queer 20somethingyearold).

This is a play we need on stages NOW. Funny, irreverent, and provocative - a study of rural America that will change the way you see our entire country. Highly Recommend!
