At the Bedside

by Donna Gordon

Alysia has been through serious pneumonia. And then catches a virus - not COVID. Justin, her son, visits and alleviates her subsequent depression, but not after Dr. Reyes steps in to lend a less than positive light. This is a bird's eye view of hospitalization and its effects on the family. Justin's wise-cracking son, Mark, lends comic relief.

"At the Bedside" is the heartfelt story of the emotional healing of a family as its oldest member heals physically. I appreciate its characters' resilience in the face of obstacles. Well done.
