Tallahassee

Eight year old Patrick has just lost his grandmother, Helene. Overwhelmed by his heartache, he sets off to bring her home, where she belongs. With his not-so-stuffed teddy bear, Wallace Beary in tow, Patrick journeys to the underworld. Will he make it home before the streetlights come on?
Inspired by the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, "Tallahassee" is an exploration of grief and letting go.

I loved this play. Wonderful leaps of imagination - that all make sense in this world. Funny. Terrifying. Touching. Satisfying.

Casting Notes:
- Patrick is to be played by a young Black person. They do not
have to be eight. They do not have to be a boy, but they do need
to be Black.
- Corinne is the picture of "Black excellence", as such, the
character is to be played by a Black female identifying person.
- Almost all other characters are to be played by people of color. Helene/Dot is to be played by a person of color.
- There is no more than one white person in this world.
- Be open to considering trans actors for many of the roles.
