The play is set in present day New York City and is based on true events. After 40 years driving a cab, a hope-filled Bobby Farrier expects to sell his taxi medallion at auction this afternoon for one million dollars. Then get married and retire a happy man.
Richard Stryker, a confident family man and Bobby’s passenger for the day, is one hundred percent positive that his extended period of unemployment is going to end today when he lands a new job. The biggest job of his life. A career maker.
But what starts as a day filled with promise, soon gets upended. Becoming an unpredictable and ultimately treacherous ride. Leaving us wondering if Bobby and Richard will make it home that night. And praying that these strangers turned friends are able to save each other’s’ lives.
No One Cries For The Blacksmith offers understanding and hope to the vulnerable among us. Two complete strangers form a lifesaving bond in one day. A bond that will last forever.
There is a light at the end of every tunnel and that light is hope. In life there are times when each of us is broken. What is critical is to hang in there long enough to reach that light so it can shine its restorative beam upon us and make us whole again. Never give up. Never give in. Never go down without a fight.
No One Cries For The Blacksmith will be a light at the end of the tunnel for its audience and they will leave with hope and a smile.
