It is always a gift to stumble across a truly bizarre, genuinely eccentric, sparklingly absurd, and downright memorable play. This is a strange, sexy, scary theatrical world, and I think I could spend a year trying to dig through the gooey, sticky, bloody, gelatinous mess it leaves behind. I love the way all the little stories, though profoundly sad, come together in the little container that is the apartment. I was hopeful at moments, but in the end, I'm feeling devastated and pensive and raw. I'll be thinking about this one for a long time. What an odd trip!

It's hard to stop thinking about this play once you've encountered it: it's sticky, gooey, its remnants cling to you. Happy Life is at deliciously dense but also so playful, horrifying and hilarious. It feels like what it feels like to be alive right now -- everything melting into cosmic soup and bureacracy and nightmares.

I had the privilege of seeing this performed live, and it absolutely blew me away. The story is enrapturing, unsettling, enticing, sexy, and tastefully combines horror with humor. Each character has many layers to be pulled back and every twist is both shockingly unexpected and exquisitely foreshadowed. By the end of the show, I was wishing for a third act only to stay in this fascinating, fantastical world a little longer.

A brilliant absurdist horror play that's a gift for designers to figure out!!

Reading this play feels like putting together the pieces of a fascinating, magical, and at times horrifying puzzle. I was thrilled and delighted by Ng's voice and her ability to bring so much many stories together into what was such a unique, singular dramatic experience.

This was a ride and one of the most inventive theatrical worlds I've had the pleasure of reading. I appreciated the interplay of dark and light here, particularly when there were these stark, unsettling, potent shifts into slightly more naturalistic storytelling/monologue from the buoyancy and vibrancy of prior scenes. I would love to see some of these unforgettable stage images, sequences, and moments on their feet and tackled by a creative production company!
