It's 2006, and John Francis finds himself full of doubts as he stands on the cusp of his thirties. His world is thrown into even greater turmoil as the group of friends he plays Dungeons and Dragons with is shattered when one of them enlists to go to Iraq.

Can John Francis use all his skill as a Dungeon Master to get his friends to say what they need to say to each other before they have to part? And can he find himself as an adult and as a man in the game he's loved since he was a child?
