  • Morey Norkin: She Got Better

Representation matters. And for anyone who is struggling or knows someone who is struggling with an eating disorder, I would hope this play provides some recognition and more of the challenges, hopes, and victories along the road to recovery. This was completely eye opening for me. And for all the good that can come from producing this piece, it’s important to note it’s a remarkable theatrical work. So produce it!

  • H. Avery: She Got Better

I love this reimagining of Goldilocks and Little Red Riding Hood in recovery. I think it's refreshing to see adult women onstage finding space to heal their inner children with each other, and not something people usually feel brave enough to do in real life. I think this play fills a gap in representation of something I haven't quite seen enough of.

  • David Hilder: She Got Better

This provocative, powerful piece of theater deserves to be seen, heard, experienced. Kantor limns the experience of eating disorders and recovery with empathy, grace, humor, and of course pain. Storytelling as trap and as savior is a really great tool; I'm so impressed with SHE GOT BETTER.

  • Vivian Lermond: She Got Better

"Weigh In" on some raw, real storytelling in SHE GOT BETTER, a powerful tale of two conflicted women attempting to purge themselves of the traumas that led them to a last-ditch effort to get free from the shackles of their eating disorders. SHE GOT BETTER is a winner in every way! Produce!!!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: She Got Better

Sometimes, hiding behind a 'happily ever after' is the best way to avoid a reality. That was a thought that occurred to me as I finished this powerful piece. Gia and Scarlett are two people with their own pasts as they reflect on it and their present. Its a piece that offers two powerful female roles and creates them a world of make believe but also shrouded in reality. Its a beautiful balance of real and raw emotion along with two characters facing intensely difficult and complicated issues which is sure to leave an audience knowing they've experienced something unique.

  • Christopher Soucy: She Got Better

So many of our fairy tales, parables, myths involve eating. Hansel and Gretel, Goldilocks, Persephone. Here is an amazing break down of recovery from eating disorders set against a back drop of the stories we consume. Aly Kantor serves up a a stellar two hander that would be amazing for any performer to present and any company to produce.

  • Julia Everitt: She Got Better

This piece somehow manages to be artistic, but also realistic. It is about eating disorder treatment, but also not. The characters are so distinct and we learn a lot about them in a short amount of time.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: She Got Better

I love this modern story with fairy tale features entwined. This would be such a strong piece for two female identifying actors! Award winning moments in here. Just a lovely tale of suffering, strength and women helping each other. I especially love the dissection of the frog and the scorpion parable, because that story has always bothered me, too! Great play...I would even tell filmmakers to consider this.
