Godspeed casts light on an often-ignored chapter in the post-slavery history of the U.S. while taking the audience on an epic, escapist theatrical experience.

    I had the opportunity to see GODSPEED at the Denver Center, and was blown away. This play felt like a cross between an epic hero's journey and, of course, a Western. GODSPEED manages to strike a balance of humor amidst its difficult moments. Godspeed as a character is constantly compelling to watch -- I could have followed this character on her journey forever. I loved the character of Peklai, and appreciated the multilingual writing in this story. GODSPEED is an exciting and daring new play.

    A fun romp of a play that also touches on some deeper issues at times. The main character, Godspeed, is determined, capable, and yet flawed in ways to make you believe she exists. The colorful cast gives this play real bite. I feel we need more genre plays in theatre, and this is a good one.
