This short play is romantic and wistful. Nora Louise Syran adds a touch of magic and mystery as there's nothing explicitly said about the identity of the lover or the connection with the cooing pigeon. It adds to the charm and atmosphere of "Two Turtle Doves."

I continue to be intrigued! Two Turtle Doves drive a woman bonkers because she's alone and they aren't, and then her loneliness manifests a partner... fascinating!

The series of plays continue with this beautiful (if a little sad) segment. While being a brilliant re-design of the classic Christmas song, this particular play also provides a poignant commentary on relationship and trying to find love and how it can cause us many sleepless nights. A truly lovely piece, even if I couldn't help but feel sorry for the pigeon.

Syran captures so many midwinter themes here and weaves together a tale of loneliness and heartache. The haunting cooing and gentle sounds of Christmas carols evoke yearning whispers on a long winter’s night.

Such a poignant little scene and full of Christmas sounds. Within this short piece many thoughts are shared and subject matters covered. Simple, clever and enormously effective writing.
