An incredibly confident, singular, and riveting play. Like slowly realizing you're in a bad dream but not being able to wake up. Great theatrical fundamentals bolstered the tremendously queasy atmosphere!

This play is like a modern-day Sara Kane: shocking, provocative, and delivers a pulsating story that will have audiences on the edge of their seats. This play gives us a simple hostage scenario yet still gives us room to imagine the circumstances of both Blue and Green. It thrives in being an uncomfortable experience, never letting up on its intensity. A play that will linger in your psyche.

Character Information

Blue and Green within the script are written without consideration to gender, sexuality, race, ability, class, or any human identifier. However, the bodies and truths of the actors will naturally have an effect on the story in a way they the designers and directors should be conscious of.

In an ideal world, a team of three actors would be able to rotate the roles during the run of the show. It would do a disservice to the audience for the actors to all present the same identifiers/metrics.
  • Blue
Newer to the room and the one who physically suffers more. Blue is more aware of themselves, though they never share they remember their real name, their history, and it shows in how they think and navigate the world.

  • Green
Green has been in the room longer, they know little tricks to make it better. Maybe Green is a little blinded by the time away from the real world. They don't know their name, they've forgotten very human things and it scares them. Green's suffering is almost all internal.
