  • Lolly Ward: FLOATING NAKED WITH PIRANHAS (HOW I LEARNED TO LOVE WORKING AT AMAZON)

This play is hilarious, enlightening, and devastating. It changed the way I thought about that simple click to order, and the world would be a better place if more people saw it. Please produce this play!

  • Donald Loftus: FLOATING NAKED WITH PIRANHAS (HOW I LEARNED TO LOVE WORKING AT AMAZON)

A bold, high-energy satire, Floating Naked with Piranhas delivers a biting, darkly comic look at modern labor and corporate culture. Rich Rubin’s sharp, irreverent voice and inventive theatricality keep the piece fast, funny, and unsettling. Beneath the humor lies a pointed critique of data-driven dehumanization, culminating in a clever, thought-provoking exploration of survival, identity, and resilience.

If you’ve ever made a purchase from Amazon, thought about it, or have only just heard of Amazon, this is a must read! Rich Rubin’s brilliant narrative of the inner workings of the internet behemoth comes across as an enlightening TED Talk, but so much better. If you didn’t know before, you’re bound to be surprised by what happens after you click to complete your order. Is an Amazon “fulfillment center” coming to your area? Read this before you apply for a job!

  • Karen Fix Curry: FLOATING NAKED WITH PIRANHAS (HOW I LEARNED TO LOVE WORKING AT AMAZON)

This scathing indictment of corporate greed rings true while being a fun and theatrical romp. The characters call out the absurdity of corporate policies towards their low level workers in a riveting fast paced banter. So many possibilities for an entertaining production. Imaginative and relevant.

Having read and been in a reading of this play in Houston, I can tell you that this play deserves to be fully realized. Bill is an Everyman, descending into the depths of the corporate consumer machine. Where do Piranhas come in? Read and find out.

  • DC Cathro: FLOATING NAKED WITH PIRANHAS (HOW I LEARNED TO LOVE WORKING AT AMAZON)

A scathing look at the inner workings of the biggest and best/worst company on the planet. Either very well researched or autobiographical, this exposé on the "A to Z" is startling, but not really. Corporate culture has always been hard on the workers, but Amazon has taken it to extremes, so much so that they have to run ad campaigns to alleviate pressure from workers and the public. This piece brings to mind "Walmartopia" in the humor and style and themes, only more personal and without the songs. Excellent work, funny, and yet another reason to SHOP SMALL BUSINESS!
