Recommendations of COLLEEN'S OUTER DEMON

  • Mike Byham: COLLEEN'S OUTER DEMON

Imaginative and entertaining - Adam Richter's funny tale of avoiding death is a winner. The setting in a suburban mall is perfect and Colleen's spunkiness making use of her demons is an inspired choice. I would love to see the puppets on stage. I'm hoping a long life for Colleen and that she eventually finishes her novel - writing or reading. Well done!

  • John Busser: COLLEEN'S OUTER DEMON

05.26.25 - A great comic take on inner and outer demons and what those REALLY entitle. Adam Richter can put a comedic spin on just about anything, and he does so here to great effect. I loved the 4 inner demons (With the Unfinished Novel being a particularly innovative one). Would also kill to see the theatre put together the Headless, Irish demon at the forefront of this piece. C'mon somebody, do this!

  • Scott Sickles: COLLEEN'S OUTER DEMON

Laugh out loud funny send up of Death (the summoner), doubt (who has brought friends), and pseudo-suburbia! The banter is beautifully strategic, Colleen is just the right kind of plucky, and the demons, outer and inner, are wonderfully colorful creations! (One demon in particular is especially unforgettable!) A delectable confection, perfect for Halloween but good year round!

    Content warning: PUPPETS!

SO much fun! A very original piece where a is character running (physically running) from her personified internal demons. I laughed out loud.

  • Joe Swenson: COLLEEN'S OUTER DEMON

This play is beyond awesome. Whatever word you can come up with that is beyond awesome, that's this play. The characters are clever and absolutely consistent with their assigned roles in life. Adam has built a fun, comedic triumph where good or unfinished beats evil or evades the inevitable. I laughed out loud reading this multiple times and even better, I smiled through most of it. Excellent work by Adam Richter!

  • Lee R. Lawing: COLLEEN'S OUTER DEMON

This is a funny play and would bring a lot of joy on stage for sure. We can run most everything but death and our inner demons. The Unfinished Novel is a great bit as is the entire play. Funny from start to finish.

  • Robert Mattson: COLLEEN'S OUTER DEMON

OK! I freakin' loved this script! I really wish I wrote it. Like most great 10-minute scripts it's based on a really creative idea that Adam Richter then fleshed out into a wonderfully tight story that anyone can quickly identify with. Plus, the second I read "princess in Florin channel," I knew that I was going to love this gentleman's style. Read it! Produce it! Get this darn thing on stage!!!

  • Molly Wagner: COLLEEN'S OUTER DEMON

With quick wit and sparkling dialogue, "Colleen's Outer Demon" is a fun short play that will have you cheering for Colleen to escape an ancient Irish demon, only to find the ancient demon may not be the worst thing she needs to overcome.

  • Steven G. Martin: COLLEEN'S OUTER DEMON

Adam Richter has created a devilishly funny short play that questions what is scarier: An ancient being destined to accompany people to the underworld upon their death or those nagging, self-inflicted pains we cause ourselves day-by-day.

    Guess which wins.

"Colleen's Outer Demon" has funny dialogue, a treasure chest of characters, and plenty of action and plot points. I enjoyed a virtual reading of this script in 2021 and I'd really enjoy watching a production.
