The community of National Committee readers for the 46th Bay Area Playwrights Festival advanced GRISWOLD as a Semi-Finalist at Playwrights Foundation. We were deeply moved by the play’s excavation and personalization of the history of Griswold v Connecticut. We were engaged by the stylized theatrical conventions the play employs to bring us closer to the historical characters, with strong pacing and quick-witted tone. We hope this play is considered for further development and investigation, and finds dedicated collaborators in this play’s journey towards production. #BAPF46

  • Rhiannon Ling: Griswold

This piece is, frankly, utter perfection. Its structure? Clever and compelling. Its characterization? Empathetic, witty, touching. Its discoveries and chronology? Goosebump-worthy. A stunning piece of feminist theatre.
