This short play about a dropped sock is a big deal. The longer it stays unpicked-up, the more meaning the errant garment takes on. (I love that we aren’t given what kind of sock it is.) It’s the mental places Richter goes with it, always surprising, yet so natural in defining the three characters. PICKUP GAME is such a funny, smart romp!!

A great little short piece. Easy to stage. So much fun how we all miss the obvious at times. Definitely a farcical game worth watching!

ADAM RICHTER takes a sock as the only prop and leads us through a witty short piece in his “The Pickup Game”. This will definitely be a crowd pleaser. I enjoyed it!

All the mischief that one sock on the floor creates is so appropriate to how many of us deal with life's problems. Let it sit there and it either becomes someone else's problem, or someone else's opportunity. A simple play about a complex subject, in this case, responsibility. This is smart, funny and ends just the way it should. Terrific, Adam!

Anyone who has shared a living space will know this scenario and the issues it raises. This is more than just negotiating the space and the personalities and the hopes and dreams that come when an errant piece of hosiery is the symbol of that relationship.

But it goes beyond that. I live alone. Last weekend I did my laundry, but on the way to put the clean clothes away, I found a single sock on the kitchen counter. And now I have read this play.

There are no coincidences.

Highly recommend! Great props - sock and a banana. I enjoy each of the characters talking to the audience. We learn a lot about each character and their relationships in a few short pages.

I loved this short play. It was never about the sock. It never is. I loved how perfectly we are dropped into the characters world. An ace short read.

A lot of laughs get crammed into only five pages in this deftly structured and feverishly paced farce.

A deft verbal pantomime becomes a mashup of Machiavelli, Alan Bennett, and Feydeau. And yes, it’s all about the sock… Until it’s not about the sock at all!!!

Perfectly paced, surprisingly complex, consistently yet increasingly hilarious! Bravo!
