Recommendations of Border Run

  • Katy Laurance: Border Run

Frank, heartbreaking, and perhaps almost too real. On its face, this piece is so simple, and disarming, and then you blink and...it's chilling. Perhaps most frightening of all: it reads like instructions for a future we are not prepared for, but may be coming all the same.

  • Jacquelyn Floyd-Priskorn: Border Run

This is absolutely high tension and terrifying because it is so very possible. Very easy to stage but would make a powerful short film as well. All the details are well painted and the actors will have some powerful words to showcase their talents through.

  • Morey Norkin: Border Run

A sad and frightening look at where women’s reproductive rights are headed in post Roe v. Wade America. George Sapio let’s the tension build as the two characters discuss the details of their planned “escape.” And then he leaves you teetering on the edge of your seat wondering what their fate will be. A small bit of discomfort considering what women are already facing. This is an important play that needs to be produced before the events depicted become reality.

  • Debra A. Cole: Border Run

I feel all wrong saying how much I like this short play. It incapsulates every fear and emotion I am feeling right now after the ROE vs WADE reversal. Audiences need to see this produced. RAGE ON, GEORGE, RAGE ON!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Border Run

As you read through the tense (and at times heartbreaking) conversation between Lisa and Stan you find yourself wanting to nervously laugh and say "no...things can't get that bad, can they?" but at the same time. George has created a pertinent play that I think should be perfect to hold a mirror up to those who made the recent decision to reverse Roe and make them realise what they have done. Its a powerful and very well constructed piece that will not fail to make an audience think, feel and be enraged! Which is needed right now!

  • Jack Levine: Border Run

GEORGE SAPIO doesn’t shy away from the reality of what will be happening in the USA in his play, “Border Run”. You cannot help but be shocked, saddened, and stressed over the unfairness our new world (i.e., reversal of Roe) will be. There’s a lot to think about in this play. Good work!
