A rare treat from an emerging playwright -- a play that does exactly what it sets out to do. Full of laughs (complemented by well timed gasps) Insertion perfectly captures the effervescent awkwardness of the modern sexual landscape. Maisie is an anti-ingenue's dream role, teetering between over and under sexed like a prudish seesaw. Sarah's work is a treat for directors, designers, and audiences alike!

Maisie is such a wonderfully written character. It's so refreshing to see a female character going after what she wants. She is equal parts funny and heart-breaking. I really found myself rooting for her throughout the whole play. This character will be a gift for young actresses. Loved the magical realism, too!!!

This is such a lovely, hilarious, heartfelt piece! Maisie's journey--both with regards to her own sexuality and shame about being a virgin as well as her insecurity as a writer--are so grounded and nuanced. And of course the character of Lord Blitheridge the hunky romantic hero is fantastic.
