I found myself slowly crossing my legs as I read this. Holy cow, this was both funny as hell and cringe-inducing at the same time. I loved that hapless Tony was trying so hard to please his wife in a way that, frankly, gives me the heebie-jeebies to contemplate doing. The character of Claire holds her own quite well. A hilarious start to my day courtesy of Brandon Urrutia. And I'm going to be walking funny for the rest of that day.

HA! It's not until you read this brilliant, fast paced play, that you realize just how spot on the title is! This short play is so funny, audiences will buy into each well fleshed out (pun fully intended) character and will surely be laughing throughout.

Urrutia's sharp dialogue is as pitch-perfect as ever. It leads us, like Claire, into a most unexpected (but well-meant? innocent? WHY?) request. I suppose stranger things have happened at Claire's, but should they? Or is that the spirit of it all in the end? Kind of romantic, but still illegal.

    Also! Ow.

    I feel different now.

Dickery Pokery is not for the squeamish, but audiences will no doubt be squealing with laughter at this surprisingly heartfelt comedy from Brandon Urrutia. A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do for his wife, and a hapless Claire’s employee probably wishes she had rethought her choice of internship setting. This play is sure to be a highlight at ten minute play festivals!

OMG! This fast paced banter is hilarious and unexpected...and somehow a little sweet, if not weird. This is a foreign concept to me, but Tony is impressive for "taking the shot" so to speak, to make his wife happy. File this one under "Weirdly romantic and slightly criminal."

I was willing to give this a recommendation on title alone, but damn, this is funny! Yes, there's some cringy, gross stuff happening here. But Brandon Urrutia doesn't attempt to mine humor from the gross stuff, but rather the relatable, even lovable characters' reaction to the gross stuff. This is a super strong "recommend".

Absurd, silly, and just a little stomach-turning squirmy, Urrutia's piece is unique for its ability to pull heartwarming moments out of a completely inappropriate setting. They don't shy from the penis jokes but he doesn't press to a place of sheer ick either which makes it unwholesome (or hole-some?) fun for everyone. Dickery Pokery is like National Lampoon's Body Modification, give it a read and a production.

A laugh out loud play that is reminiscent of raunchy sketch comedy. It will have you screaming from start to finish. A+ 10/10 highly recommended
