It Is in the Wall

Three teenagers sit on the floor of a small church bathroom with a Ouiji board set up before them when the light suddenly switches off. But it's no longer hide and seek in the dark bathroom during choir practice like when they were young; it's serious. And there is a strange scratching come from inside the wall...

09.28.25 - As someone who appreciates the tension buildup of horror rather than a gross in-your-face knife kill (The original The Haunting is better than 90% of what passes for horror nowadays IMO) this little creep fest by Nora Louise Syran clawed my scary bone in all the right ways. I think what you DON'T see is scarier and Syran puts off the threat until it's too late to do anything about it, which is perfect. This would be wonderful to see realized on stage.

Like all good horror tales, this one will grab you from the very beginning and won't let go and just when you think you've made it through all the hurdles, your imagination will get the best of you just as the blackout occurs.

This is the perfect short spooky play for young performers. Atmospheric, not graphic, full of relatable characters and fun fear building. Students will love putting this play together!
