I adored this short play. Definitely went somewhere I didn't expect when I started it. Loved getting to spend with these character in this tender moment.

What a wonderfully written play! The humor draws me in. The dialogue is masterful. The characters are real and honestly struggling together. And then it breaks your heart! Lovely and strong work, great for actors. Very well done.

An incredibly sweet and touching play. It deals, with enormous sensitivity, a subject that could veer off into cliche or sentimentality and successfully avoids all those traps. One of the things that struck me while reading the script is the masterful way Towers captures the stuttering rhythm of an awkward conversation. It's a gift for the actors.

I had the privilege of seeing this beautiful play at the 2024 Boston Theater Marathon, and I still think about it every time I see a lobster tank. Towers captures the voice of his young characters, making them feel well-rounded and complex. In this short play, he is also able to make you think about mortality and grief, while also teaching you how to crack a lobster for the first time. A charming and captivating piece.

I was privileged to see this one at the OOB Festival. Michael's perfectly crafted dialogue brings a complex relationship between a father and his young daughter to vivid life with so much depth and nuance, that it's amazing how concise it is. This feels like a full-length play that unfolds in only ten minutes, and yet never feels rushed or forced. Engrossing, moving, resonant... and so funny!

As if a hands-on boiled lobster dinner isn't messy enough, Michael Towers deftly mixes in a complicated father-daughter relationship. The dialogue, emotions, and metaphors flow as smoothly as melted butter. A lovely and touching combination of laughs and feels.

Michael Towers has a confidence and mastery to his uniquely concise style, using sparse language, allegories and visual references with humor and a light touch. This effortlessly shows us character histories, relationships, and generational conflicts and fears. It's emotional quality creeps up on you amidst how funny it all is yet its humor is in its compassion and empathy.

I had the pleasure of seeing this play performed, and it was wonderful to watch. It is a touching play between a father and daughter during an emotionally intense time. There is honesty, tenderness, and a lot of comedy as the two work through a new set of circumstances. I admire Michael's ability to make us laugh and cry in only 10 minutes.
