←Recommendations of THE OTHER MAN'S GRASS IS MONDEGREEN-ER, a 10-minute absurdist comedy

Everyone has had bad dates. But I will dare say that none of us have had a date like this. Dr. Toni is a professional, but even she is fully unprepared when her blind date shows up speaking only in misheard song lyrics (mondegreens). Then things just keep getting crazier when her date’s ex-lover shows up, apparently with the same affliction. Best of all, Arianna Rose’s clever use of the premise (and language) makes it all make sense in this hilariously comedic short piece.

If Weird Al and Norm Crosby (look him up, youngsters) had sex down the hall ("There's a bathroom on the right!" see, everybody can play!) and had a love child who became a playwright, they still wouldn't produce something as profoundly funny as this play by Arianna Rose. I didn't catch all the references, but boy, there were some great ones in here and a few oldies that tickled my brain. I'd love to see this produced for an appreciative audience. I'd be right there with them!

Arianna's creativity is constantly surprising and she reaches a new high in creating this play about misheard lyrics. The research and craft involved in creating this absurd and very funny play is enormous and once again, she has come up a winner. You may not catch all of the lyrics, depending on your age and musical experience, but you'll have fun trying to figure them out.

We've all misheard song lyrics. With this short play, Ms Rose has taken these "mondegreen's" to a high art form. My favorite was "Hit me with your pet shark". You may not get all the references, depending on your age and experience, but her glossary will assist. A really fun and abstract piece.

In the days of AM Top 40 radio (and a bottle of Annie Greensprings wine), it was all too easy to mis-hear the lyrics of your favorite number 1 hit. Arianna Rose has taken that to giddy heights with this short absurd piece that speaks in nothing but those mislyrics (aka mondegreens) and artfully, skillfully makes sense and has a giggly good time doing it, proving that the ants are my friends, they're blowin' in the wind. It's fun, and even more when you see the handy guide she includes so you know "Oh, THAT'S what they said!"

Rose has written a fun and funny romp into an absurd world of mondegreen speaking characters and a woman trying valiantly to engage and respond on a first date. If your “sweet dreams are made of cheese”, you’ll love this play!
