What a gripping story! I was fascinated from the first moment. There's something almost film-like about the structure of the piece - the narration mixed with present-time action - that makes it intimate and endears Dorothy to us right away as well as our narrator. This is writing at the highest level of craft, and such a spooky tale!

I'm a sucker for a good ghost story (in the daytime). This one draws you in and holds your attention as more and more gets revealed about the ghost - and Dorothy. The use of a narrator makes it feel like you're being told a ghost story around a fire or at a sleepover or some other place where ghost stories are shared. Satisfyingly spooky!

This feels very real. It would make a great episode in a tv series or even radio drama, too!
The descriptions from the narrator really draw you in and you find yourself adoring dear Dorothy as well.

This is such a clever play, it's a ghost story of course and we can decide to believe or not, but here the playwright tells this story in such a believable way. At no point is it fantasised, or exaggerated in any way. Having a narrator relay the events is inspired, it makes you feel as if you're in the house with Dorothy. I'm sure any audience will experience a similar chill. I love it!

There is so much to love about this play! It is poignant, it is gothic, it is funny, it is full of beautiful dialogue and colorful characters, it has southern accents! I found it to be deeply compelling and thoroughly engrossing-- so much more than a simple ghost story. I can envision a gorgeous and rich set, a moody lighting design, an eerie soundscape, and ample roles for capable actors ready to tell an original story that truly lingers on. This is a play that must be staged!
