I love how you recognize that SOMETHING is off about this blind date pretty quickly, and then spend the rest of the short play puzzling out what it is. I always enjoy a good forbidden love story!

There’s more at stake in this meet cute scenario than initially meets the eye. My favorite kind of romantic comedy- one with a horror twist! A fun blending of genres!

They say opposites attract, but when a vampire and a slayer sit down for a blind date, hilarity ensues! This would make a great little piece for a Valentine's Day festival of shorts.

This is adorable...in a threatening kind of way! I think Danny and Blair have a very...dark future together. It seems like they might be good for one another and they both know it! A wonderful "meat" cute!

I have to wonder if a blind date between a hunter and the hunted isn't really a metaphor for the whole process of dating. This blind date gets off to a rocky start with a late arrival, but a sweet chemistry develops and a second date is even considered. Then come the witty and engaging reveals that turn the whole proceeding on its head. This play is great fun throughout.

A blind date in a coffee shop late evening, with blood red coffee? A great start to a fun play where hunter meets hunted.
The interaction between these two is cute, affectionate even, for a while you believe there may well be a second date, then the ending, of which I will not give away, is both fitting and very funny! Love it!

From meet cute to “meat” cute. This is a fun play on vampires, dating, and unsolved mysteries. Dzubak creates endearing, funny characters that are natural and likable. I wouldn’t mind a full length exploration of this world.

Cole really knows how to raise the "stakes" in their plays, don't they? This piece was fun. I love the chemistry between Danny and Blair. Navigating a blind date can be so awkward and it was a joy to see these two stumble through it.

So the world of dating is perilous as it is but Cole has really brought it to a whole new level! He's taken what should be a normal scenario and then twists and turns it expertly to the point where I was leaning forward in my chair wanting to see where it was going! Its a great piece for two performers and is sure to bring a giggle and curiosity from the audience as they discover the secrets of these two young people and whether they will get the second date? A wonderfully written piece with great pace.

It is amazing what COLE HUNTER DZUBAK can do with TIME as a writing prompt and FIRST as a bonus prompt.

This “meet cute”is much more than it first appears. The characters of a Danny and Blaire are perfect for each other and soon becomes evident why.

DZUBAK handles the dialogue with ease and delightful humor making audiences feel like they are in a nearby table listening in.

Makes me wonder if the chase at the end isn’t leading to even cuter things.
