Kendra has done the impossible here by writing an intimate, emotional play that manages to dissect and interrogate massive and complex issues. I learned so much watching this piece, but the information-heavy scenes go down easy when they are being delivered by characters so well-defined and magnetic. There's a rich specificity in the dialogue that makes this piece feel unique, even as its themes are universal. A wonderful work to live in - with important ideas that I believe will resonate strongly with any audience.

As a fellow Michigander, it was delightful to experience this play's challenge to the larger "Detroit is dead" narrative. There are incredible, lyrical movement interludes throughout the play that would be a delight to tackle through design. A play akin to the film "Spotlight," this journalistic investigative play will stun you with its factual revelations.

Such an intimate play about a big issue. Loved the moments of dance that are sprinkled throughout this play. A fresh and unique take on the prodigal child returning home story.
