The way the townsfolk at the local diner talk about RuthAnn, I feel like I know her! What starts as a folksy Our Townish piece takes a deliberate turn. There are secrets Sara has been keeping. A secret. A big one. Fans of Sam Shepard and Horton Foote would do well to check out this truly terrific play by Debra A. Cole - what an ending!

  • George Sapio: Oldest in the County – A Radio Play

This folksy tale is not what one would expect. Hometowns hide many secrets, and gossipy butt-inns make trouble, and most times its best to let things lie. And some folks will never get the meaning of "MYOB." And sometimes justice isn't needed at all. Once again Deb Cole's spun herself a surprising tale sure to make audiences sit up straight!

A rich tapestry of community and place, but it is only when you get to the end that you realize fully what all the homespun nostalgia is hiding.

DEBRA A. COLE put together an interesting, humorous, and sentimental play. I thoroughly enjoyed “Oldest In The Country - A Radio Play”. There was plenty of charm and colorful characters. I really like the twist at the end.

  • Lee R. Lawing: Oldest in the County – A Radio Play

We keep seeing the oldest person in the world's age creeping up to this unimaginable number that seems impossible for one person to even reach in tact . Oldest in the County is a fun and creepy radio drama that would play so well on any podcast!!

  • Rachel Feeny-Williams: Oldest in the County – A Radio Play

This seems like it could be a serial programme. The characters Deb has created here have wonderful interactions as you learn about their lives and the town they live in. I really wanted to be a fly on the wall during the wonderfully funny conversation and later for the brilliant twist! As a radio play its got amazing potential to draw the listener in with a desire to know more about this small town and its people!
