It all begins with the shop's grand opening. While Margie has high hopes for success, she discovers that running a business is harder than she expected and soon finds herself behind on her rent.

Enter Feonora, a young fairy-in-training who can't wait to use the magic she's learned to help Margie. But her mentor—a strict, older fairy named Ortensia—warns Feonora that the one spell she can never cast is bringing a book character to life. It'll only lead to chaos!

Well, chaos is exactly what happens when the well-meaning but clumsy Feonora attempts to cast the spell in secret and accidentally brings to life a whole shopful of famous book characters, including Cinderella, Don Quixote, and those ravenous rodents from Beatrix Potter's The Tale of Two Bad Mice.

Can Feonora convince these often obstinate characters to give up their newfound freedom and return to their books for good? Why does Cinderella's ballgown have a giant bite taken out of it? And what happened to the priceless first edition that was Margie's sole hope of saving the shop?
