O. Henry would probably smile at this tribute to his work. Then he'd wonder is James Perry was running a scam. In the meantime, audiences will get a kick out of this twisted tale of back-stabbers, swindlers and dirty, rotten scoundrels. And like the best of these kind of tales, the right person ends up getting taken for all their worth.

I am not familiar with the O. Henry source material, but this is a fun little short which got me to laugh out loud at the end! Very unexpected ending! Hilarious!

If yer gonna be dishonest, don't be surprised if others are as well. A classic swindle goes all too well and the inevitable comes due. A truly fun piece to play and as part of a night of comedies. Just don't forget to follow the money...if you can.

I wasn't familiar with the original O'Henry story, but I love a story with the type of twist ending O. Henry was known to deliver. I read the original story after reading this play, and I think James Perry has elevated the original in several ways. I won't give anything away, but the device of having one of the characters involved in the con tell the story adds to the dramatic tension. Other changes also keep this story fresh. It's also surprisingly relevant in the modern age of online catfishing! A fun show that I'm sure will amuse audiences!
