I really, really love this! Vivian Lermond makes us realize that a martini lunch can easily turn into a dumpster dive with a bad economy. But these two still have each other, and there’s nothing like a lottery ticket (no matter how small) to boost morale in a hopeless situation. Wonderfully inspiring!

This is Lermond doing what Lermond does so beautifully - finding the hope in humanity. You learn so much briefly, and
immediately start to care and hope with this couple. It’s theatre reminding us that “that there but for the grace of God go I.” It’s theatre reminding us to hope.

LERMOND’s short play “Deep Pockets” is a quick look at the many living in poverty. Two people - just wanting for something. The play is has sad undertones in a place for hopefulness. Well done. Perfect for one act competitions. Your audience will live questioning their own limits and morals.

A terrific, fast paced slice into the life of two interesting characters catapulted into a now familiar world. The message of hope is delivered deftly and the characters glide effortlessly through the play. A great addition to a one-act evening.

Wow, I think maybe all of us have thought about being in this situation. I love the way these two seem to have stuck together through thick and thin; financial difficulties split up so many couples, but these two have stayed together. The lottery win is like the jackpot for them, and I love the way they compare it to what $50 would have meant in the old days. Their perseverance just bursts out over the airwaves! It's fantastic.

This is a sad reminder that all of us could end on the street if luck and circumstances turn. But happiness is finding a coat and suitcases left by a good samaritan. That makes things look up for a struggling couple. I wish them well!
