A tale as old as time (sure, wrong story, but the point is valid) with beloved characters that will live in eternity. WHat's wrong with that? Plenty, it seems. In Chris Soucy's latest treasure, we find comedic gold as Cap'n Hook and Smee, keep living and dying again and again in a never-ending cycle. Positing ideas of a larger plan at hand, these two shipmates banter and bludgeon, shoot the breeze and the first mate, and generally never change. Cap'n and Smee become sort of their own Lost Boys. But what might happen if they change their story? Clever stuff.

I adore this play! The characters would be a delight to play. Although very familiar characters, they get the chance to make their own way through their self-realization. Just an absolutely fun piece with a hidden message about taking charge of your own fate!

A fantastic and unique spin on two classic characters! Soucy took the opportunity to humanize and add more layers to our 'villain' and his sidekick, and did an excellent job. Equal parts comedic and harrowing, this play leaves a lot to think about. Well done!

Oh wow! That's one hell of an alternative look at two well-known characters, and I love it! The tale of Peter Pan (or more specifically his nemesis and his side kick) has been expertly analysed here and the result...an intrieguing back and forth that questions their very existence in this well known story, as well as the fate they must both constantly suffer. Quite frankly, I'll never look at Captain Hook the same again. Chris has created a fabulous alternative perspective on a well known story and presented it brilliantly! Would make a great duo performance!

It's not living unless you question your reason for being and reason for living in a world that doesn't always seem like one that has any rhyme or reason unless it's written that way. Hook in Hell explores so much in it's short time, life and death, controlling your own destiny or being at the hands of another power. What starts out as a simple idea, blooms into an infinitely deeper message about charting your own path even if you don't think you can. To never give up and all of it done with great humor.

What a fun, meta retelling of the Captain Hook and Smee narrative! The comic potential is tremendous, and would keep an audience in stitches. But there are big questions too! What does it mean? Who is in control? Big questions in a small play make me happy. Love it!
