A beautiful short play about a person we don't see very often on stage. A fierce and honest portrayal of someone's experience as a trans person. The fact that there are two characters that are trans makes it even better. It shows how no one story is the same when it comes to being trans.

After reading the first page, I was expecting a hundred more. Aguilar summons a life in exacting detail, with a command of dialogue and the good sense to get on with the story. Concise, lived-in, funny, and willing to confront the profane with tact.

This play does so much in a few minutes, shows so much through the eyes & mind of one character. A great dynamic role for a trans actress, so much to work with. The audience will be thinking about Sophie long after the play is done & imagining a third path for her.
