Something that I love about TYA pieces are the way they entertain while also exploring character for all ages. And in BIG TOP BARRY, we meet several characters who have a lot to overcome and find ways to discover what makes them truly special. With a joyful narrative throughout, there's plenty to root for while also enjoying all the physical hijinks on stage. Brent Alles has a unique way of giving each character an arc while making the play so cohesive and enjoyable overall. Bravo!

A journey to the circus can be an amazingly joyous event for a child and that is precisely what Brent has created here. From the moment the play started you are entertained by wonderfully unique characters in all shapes and sizes! Not since my days watching Tom and Jerry have I been so entertained watching a chat between a cat (admittedly a big one) and mice! Its a wonderful example of what the imagination can do and what kind of fun spectacle a circus can be.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages, if you’re looking for a silly, fun, and heartwarming time, the Linguini Brothers Circus is the place for you! With a mix of charming, mostly animal characters, Brent Alles teaches us that even if we can’t be circus headliners, we all have talents that make us unique. Along the way, he treats us to some great dad jokes, puns, and not so hidden song lyrics. Pure joy!

Just like at a three-ring circus, there's something for everybody in this family-friendly romp: sharp humor for all ages, goofy sight gags and physical comedy, and a heartwarming moral about individuality. I particularly loved Maria Rasputin, the lion tamer - the perfect role for a strong character actor! Plus, the script is ripe with opportunities for virtuosic cast members to show off their obscure talents, from dance to acrobatics to playing the clarinet! It's loaded with camp, including a duo of fabulous stock villains. The clever dose of audience participation will keep kids engaged from beginning to end!

A quirky, fun group of characters on the important journey of discovering that they are unique and that their own gifts, talents, and interests - though different from what their parents do or what is expected from "someone like them" - are valuable and worthy. And serious giggles every time the lion opens his mouth and all that comes out is a squeak.

Who doesnt like a circus play? Well, "Big Top Barry” does not disappoint. A heartwarming romp that will leave you grinning like a clown with a cream pie. The dialogue pops like Jiffy Pop shaking on the burner and the lion-taming scenes are purrfect. So grab your imaginary circus ticket, suspend disbelief, and prepare for a wild ride.

Such a delightful TYA piece, and a great lesson about being willing to explore your own gifts. Lots of humor and heart, and a great opportunity for actors to let their unique talents shine.

What a warm, fun piece with lots of charm!
A heart as big as the sun, this piece is perfect for a Children's Theatre- lots of movement, lots of involvement, easily digestible dialogue. I smile from start to finish, I hope to have the opportunity to see this produced some day.
