A poignant two-hander that takes place on a cross-town bus, bringing together Jimmy and Carol, two septuagenarians heading to dramatically different destinations. During the short ride, the seed is planted for a budding friendship and leaves us with a sense of hope and optimism. A lovely play by Robert Weibezahl.

An unexpected conversation between two strangers on a bus opens up worlds for each of them. A delightful podcast on Theatrical Shenanigans, UK brought the play vividly to life. You'll think about these two characters long afterwards.

Two strangers meet on a city bus and seem to have little in common. But a bond forms anyway leading to a sweet conclusion. This engaging play is full of warmth and gentle humor. It was a pleasure to read.

In this heartwarming play "Next Stop," two strangers, Jimmy and Carol, find themselves sharing a bus seat. As they converse, their contrasting backgrounds and shared moments reveal deep connections. The play beautifully captures the passage of time and the magic of brief encounters. Nice piece of playwrighting.

Short Play Festivals all over the country are discovering what we Weibezahl fans already knew: the man can write a short play and bat it out of the park. Next Stop is a gorgeous, wistful, funny piece about how the most disparate humans can connect. I had the great good fortune of hearing this play workshopped in our writers group and it's a gem. Make Next Stop your next stop in discovering the oeuvre of playwright Robert Weibezahl and the varied and wonderful characters he brings to life.

This play provides a prime example of how one moment in your life can affect a person. Carol and Jimmy are two people who, on the face of things appear very different, she's museums and he's ball games. But as the two discover more about each other, as do the audience, they create a bond in the moment. It's a wonderfully constructed piece with wonderfully vivid dialogue. As an audience member, you also can't help but think about what will happen to the characters when they get off the bus. It's a fascinating piece!

A retired man and woman strike up a conversation. At first, we're not sure of the man's intentions, but the play evolves into a lovely discussion about art, baseball and movies, with each learning some things about the other. The dialogue reveals the characters beautifully and is fully relatable, with an ending just as you hoped it might end. A lovely play worth reading and it should be a hit at a short play festival.

A beautiful play with two very endearing characters. As the plot progresses you find yourself cheering for them and delighted with the inevitable outcome. Not overly sweet but just the right amount of sweet. Perfection. Highly recommend!

Clean, honest, and meaningful… moments derived from a city bus and a shared space and time… this lovely piece by ROBERT WEIBEZAHL will remind audiences to take a chance and try something new - no matter what the age. Seasoned actors will adore bringing these characters to life. Just beautiful.
