After their most recent failed romance, the couple is confronted with the Akashic Record of their times together, and are left to see if they can finally figure the whole soulmate thing out before the next go. Arianna Rose has written a compelling and emotional authentic yarn about two star-crossed lovers that can’t quite get it figured out over multiple lives, but seem committed to keep trying.

Sometimes couples are meant to be together even over several lifetimes. In Jonna/Jack, Arianna Rose allows a couple to explore their past lives when they enter the afterlife. In this realm, they discover more about themselves and what they truly want than they were able to during their most recent life. We can’t help but hope that whatever is next for these two will not be short lived. A lovely story with multiple casting/staging options. I have no doubt it will find its way to the stage soon and often.

Can the past create hope for the future! Are there soulmates? Rose creates a grand sweeping story in a short one act that speaks of love, redemption and what is everlasting. Not a small feat for a large and expansive play.

Jonna/Jack deals with the afterlife and reincarnation, but at its core, it’s about compatibility, long-term – even everlasting – compatibility. Jonna has cats and is into woo-woo spiritual stuff. Seems like a pretty good reason for Jack to reconsider marriage, until, that is, he gets a glimpse into alternative past lives. Arianna Rose gives us something meaty to chew on: What really makes for compatibility? It's certainly more than alliterative names. Excellent.

This is a play with a broad historical sweep and a solid emotional core. There is reason to hope that Jonna and Jack will fill the intentionally blank page in their historical record with a fulfilling life together.
