I can only imagine how much fun the actors would have getting this play on its feet, and the audience would be right there with them. It’s not dirty and it’s not a trick, it’s just, as Wilson says, Good Theatre.

A classic screwball comedy effortlessly transplanted to the current era in a way that subverts tropes and challenges stereotypes while still leaning into the most charming aspects of the genre. The writing is quick and witty, full of laugh-out-loud lines and moments. This would be an absolute pleasure to see staged with tight direction and an appropriately frenetic pace.

A wonderful salute to classic screwball comedies with fast-talking reporters, lovers in denial, and a race to a scoop. The snappy dialogue creates momentum that hurtles us through the narrative twists and turns. Special Correspondent is witty, engaging, and builds to a most satisfying pay-off.
