Will & Way

by dinah berkeley

In an old long forgotten theatre two artists reside, Will who fears staying and Way who fears leaving. The two keep themselves busy as they await Our moment. Way mostly organizes their rock collection and Will keeps finding excuses to leave the stage. Every time Will leaves, a panic sets in for Way. The world is crumbling, their moment has yet to come, "nothing to be done" thinks Way, "everything to be done"...

Beckett wishes he could write a play this good. Really enjoyed this hilarious and moving meditation about the ways people pursue (or not pursue) a life in the arts. Can't wait to see how a director, design team and cast does with this material. So much freedom here. So much room for big and bold choices.

I'm so incredibly jealous that I didn't write this play because I just think it is so pitch perfect--a brilliantly fun and heartbreaking, Will and Way are modern Didi and Gogo in this hymn to artists and friendship and the vulnerable beauty and pain of both.
